Why Spain?

Weather

It has to start with the weather. With over three hundred days of sun shine each year and wonderfully mild winters the Costa del Sol has to have the best climate in Europe. For years the area has been attracting tourists by the million. Many are captivated not only by the climate but by the magnificent mountainous scenery.

A Great Place to Live

The Costa del Sol is no longer just a tourist destination it  is a  great place to live, with great towns, shopping par excellence, a health service that works, great choice of schools and a really healthy environment. There is also an excellent motorway system now linking all the major cities in Spain.  With very light traffic it makes exploring Spain a real motoring pleasure.

The People

Mention should also be made of the Spanish people themselves. They have a wonderful attitude to life. Top priority for the Spanish is to enjoy themselves on as many occasions as possible. Their friendly and welcoming attitude makes life much easier for all the incoming foreigners.

The European Community

It is no wonder that so many thousands from across Europe  are settling here. The European Community, of which Spain is an enthusiastic member, has made it possible for it's citizens to live and work where they want in the community. The formalities have been cut to the minimum and laws changed to actively encourage EU citizens move to move to Spain. A new Spanish law passed in March 2003 now means that it is much easier for EU citizens to start a business.

The cost of living

And we can't forget the cost of living. The cost of living is among the cheapest in Europe which the following will illustrate:

  •  Shopping in the supermarket is 30%-40% cheaper than the UK.

  • The cost of motoring is 40% cheaper than the UK.

  • The cost of eating out is 50% less than the UK.

  • Rates and community charges are 40% less than the UK.

  • Although these particular comparisons are related to the UK they will still apply in general to most northern European countries

A good time to buy

The Spanish Government estimate that 1.7 million European families will buy a property in Spain in the next five years. The Andalucian Junta expect over a million of these people to buy properties in Andalucia, the majority being purchased  on the Costa del Sol.

The demand for property looks set to continue for years to come and as result, the value of good property will increase year on year.

The Costa del Sol is the place, and the time is right now!

"Bricks and mortar is still the best long term investment  ... not many argue with that. The recent volatility in stocks and shares rather proves the point"
